How Mylapay modernised DevOps to Support 50M+ Transactions a Day

About the Customer

Mylapay (registered as: Mindeed Technologies and Services Private Limited), a payment infrastructure company enabling seamless card payment processing through a single-window platform. As a certified processor and intermediator, they help connect PA-PGs, banks, and global card networks (Visa, MasterCard, RuPay, Amex) for end-to-end payment flow — authentication, authorization, fund collection, reconciliation, and dispute management.

Problem Statement

As Mylapay scaled its fintech platform, they set out to modernize backend operations to match their pace of innovation. Releases were limited to twice a month, often requiring manual patching, late-night deployments, and coordination across scattered checklists. In a time-sensitive market, this slowed down feature delivery.

At the same time, growing compliance needs, including frequent PCI-DSS audits, made any misstep costly in terms of time and resources. Debugging across multiple regions lacked visibility, stretching resolution times.

What Mylapay needed was a secure, standardized DevOps foundation, one that could scale, support multi-region operations, and make audits as simple as viewing a dashboard.

Solution

Mylapay needed more than new tools, they needed a foundational shift in how their systems worked together. Shellkode partnered with them to build a modern DevOps backbone, redesigning every layer, from infrastructure to monitoring, to help them deploy faster, stay secure, and scale with confidence.

1. Consistent Infrastructure, Everywhere
Shellkode began by fixing the fragmented infrastructure. Using reusable AWS CloudFormation templates, we automated the provisioning of core services like VPCs, EKS clusters, RDS databases, and S3 buckets.

This ensured that every environment, whether in staging or production, was consistent, secure, and ready to scale. Manual setups and configuration drift became a thing of the past.

Business Impact: Reduced environment mismatches, faster onboarding, and fewer infra-related outages.

2. CI/CD That Delivers, Fast
Mylapay’s development cycles were hampered by manual deployments and inconsistent testing environments.

We built a fully automated CI/CD pipeline integrated with Bitbucket, using AWS CodePipeline and CodeBuild. It covered the entire lifecycle from code commit to deployment, with cross-region ECR replication ensuring image availability.

The result? Mylapay went from two monthly releases to over 40 releases a week, faster shipping, better stability, and improved developer confidence.

Business Impact: Accelerated time-to-market for new features and bug fixes.

3. Scalable Microservices Architecture

Mylapay modernized its applications to microservices with support from Shellkode for infrastructure and orchestration via EKS

For lightweight and scheduled reporting jobs, we used AWS Lambda, so compute resources were only consumed when needed saving cost.

Business Impact: Better resource utilization, lower costs, and a future-proof architecture.

4. Building Observability and Security into the Stack
With distributed services, observability was crucial. We used grafana and prometheus for monitoring and dashboard.

Centralized logging with Amazon CloudWatch and audit trails via CloudTrail improved accountability. Wazuh was added to continuously monitor file changes and flag potential security risks, helping Mylapay stay compliant with PCI-DSS.

Business Impact: Faster troubleshooting, higher availability, and stronger compliance posture.

5. Proactive Compliance and Automated Maintenance
To make PCI-DSS compliance smoother, we automated environment checks using AWS Config rules.

Security patching, which used to be done manually, now runs automatically every quarter through AWS SSM during non-business hours, so systems stay secure without team fatigue.

Business Impact: Continuous compliance with less manual effort and zero downtime.
